The "département" is situated on the eastern edge of the "Massif Central", dominating the Rhone valley. It encompasses almost all the region known as the "Vivarais".

In each case follow the road in the direction of Valgorge

From the Rhone valley (A7 or N7), if you are coming from the north, take the exit signposted Loriol or Montélimar (faster).

From the "Massif Central" after Clermont-Ferrand take the exit signposted to Le Puy (N102). If the minor roads of the Tanargue range don't worry you, fork right after Lanarce and continue over the Cols of Pendu and Meyrand. If you prefer the comfort of the major roads continue through Aubenas.
